My Next Mission: Bridging the Cloud Security Gap as Stream Security’s Field CISO

I'm thrilled to announce I've joined Stream as the Field CISO.

After years immersed in the security world, including my time at OG&E, where I focused on building and maturing their cloud security infrastructure and processes, I'm excited to take on this new challenge and contribute to a company that's truly at the forefront of Cloud Security.

My experience at OG&E gave me a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges organizations face when securing their cloud environments. From migrating critical infrastructure to navigating the ever-evolving threat landscape, I've seen firsthand the increasing pressure on security teams. It's clear that the volume, variety, and sophistication of cloud breaches are only increasing, and many organizations are struggling to keep pace. This is what I call the cloud security effectiveness gap, and it’s what allows malicious actors to gain the upper hand.

These attackers are betting on organizations being passive in their cloud security approach. They're counting on fragmented solutions mostly designed for on-prem environments and reactive incident response processes that make remediation tedious and costly. The Stream team wants to disrupt that narrative.

I'm incredibly impressed with Stream's real-time approach to cloud security, particularly the unique work the company has done around Cloud detection and response. The company understands that simply monitoring alerts isn't enough. We need to immediately identify attacks-- not by inferring them from disparate sources, but by visualizing them in real time using a fully updated replica of the cloud.  We can then remediate based on a thorough understanding of the blast radius and reduce response times to seconds—without introducing downtime to operational systems. This is the philosophy I’ve championed throughout my career, and it aligns perfectly with Stream's mission.  I saw this firsthand as a Stream customer at OG&E.

In my role as Field CISO, I'll be focused on a few key areas:

• Influencing industry conversations: I'll be working to advance the dialogue around cloud security, compliance, and proactive defense strategies. I believe that sharing knowledge and best practices is crucial to raising the overall security posture of the industry.

• Empowering CISOs: I'll be working directly with CISOs to help them develop robust strategies for securing their multi-cloud environments. This includes understanding their specific challenges, providing tailored guidance, and showcasing the value of real time cloud detection and response capabilities.  

• Championing Stream's innovative approach: Stream isn't just another security vendor. The Company offers a unique real-time approach to cloud security that delivers cutting-edge technology to help organizations obtain the visibility needed to bridge the cloud security gap.
